In a significant development for the logistics of Wicklow 200, we’re pleased to announce that there will be a new start and finish location for this year’s 36th edition of the event on June 11th.
The 2017 Wicklow 200 will now begin and end at the spacious headquarters of Bray Emmets GAA Club in Bray, Co Wicklow which offers ample parking for entrants to the Wicklow 200 and its partner event Wicklow 100.
Following feedback from entrants and a full review of procedures after the 2016 edition, we identified extra parking as a priority for this year’s running of Ireland’s most venerable and best-loved challenge bike ride.
Finding a venue that could comfortably accommodate entrants and provide the infrastructure for a great experience for riders and organisers alike was a major consideration coming into 2017.
Bray Emmets have been able to step in to offer a perfect environment for riders to begin and end the biggest day of their season.
The new venue’s location on Old Connaught Road in Bray will also mean alterations to the route and the new routes will be announced shortly. Keep an eye out on the website and on social media for the changes.
